A 510 connector from Germany? Why not? What the American and English engineers can do, the Germans can of course do too.
A replica was of course out of the question. Instead, many areas were successfully optimized and newly developed. This has led to significant improvements, particularly in the areas of "volt drop" and "seat strength".
The reduction in volt drop is essentially achieved through two measures. Firstly, the entire positive pole is gold-plated. This includes both the tube in the center core and the nut to which the (copper/silver plate) is connected. On the other hand, the nut is flattened on one side. This means that the sheet no longer rests on just one point but has a surface area of 5.3 x 4 mm.
The nut is held in place with the aid of an Allen grub screw. This allows it to be adjusted in height. The grub screw is located opposite the flattened side. When it is tightened, the flattened side, i.e. exactly where the main current flow takes place, pulls firmly against the gold-plated tube. Another plus point against the volt drop.
The thread of the 510 and the nut are designed as a left-hand thread. This makes installation in the mod somewhat more difficult. However, there is no risk of the connector accidentally coming loose during use.
The connector is available in silver and black. The black color was applied using PVD coating. It has a hardness greater than 2000HV, so nothing scratches here. The coating is also electrically conductive. The coating between the nut and the top cap has been intentionally wiped to enable an even better current flow.
A silicone ring is incorporated into the center core. This is not absolutely necessary and serves more as a double safety feature.
The entire center core is pressed into the 510. This means that nothing can come loose in the long term.
